REFLECTIONS: Facebook to Launch App for Influencers

Variety – Source

With all the platforms in the world, influencers do not target Facebook as often for their content. Despite it being the world’s largest platform, the interfacing of the site doesn’t lend itself to influencers- until now.

What You Need to Know:

  1. Facebook has now announced a new platform for influencers to use to help grow their audience.

  2. Facebook has 1.94 billion active users daily, making it the largest social media platform.

  3. 40% of all videos watched on Facebook are from shared sources, not the original page.

The Rest

At Vidcon, Facebook announced that they are creating a unique platform for influencer to use for live streaming. Live streaming was made popular by Facebook 2015, by letting influencers share moments live with their audience. But creating professional looking content with the live feature was not only impossible, but the feature itself was hard to control for most users. Facebook’s new platform will allow creators to have intros and outros as well as stickers and custom frames that can be used. Facebook who owns Instagram, has seen a boom in the live streaming market and will hopefully be launching this new feature soon.

Moral of the Story

For your brand, it allows a more polished look to branded content and creating a more personalized experience for influencers. You can create custom content to help create a story and keep the authenticity of live videos. For influencers, this might bring you to Facebook in the first place. If you’ve seen a boost from sharing live videos on your Instagram stories, it might be worth trying out in the Facebook space as well due to the larger audience size. At the end of the day, it will be interesting to see what this new feature does in the realm of influence and brands.

Little tip from the Top

Content creators have had difficulty with the Facebook platform in the past, as their work often ends up stolen / repurposed. Having live videos ensures the safety that the content will be linked back to your page and brand. While it isn’t out yet and fully structured, this new feature is bound to create a drive to use the live streaming features on Facebook. When the feature launches God & Beauty can help your brand navigate it’s most effective use.
