The Triple Take Beauty Issue: Beauty Technology, Hair Guides, and SPAcations…

Honey & Silk: Day-To-Night With Estée Lauder

We have all wished for that magic tool that would help us match our foundation to our skin tone at one time or another. Well, Estée Lauder is answering the call with their AMAZING new iMatch tool and, of course, fashion and beauty expert, Stephanie Hjelmeseth is there to test it out and give us the “skinny.”

She sits down for a chat with Estée Lauder Global Director Makeup Artisry, Blair Patterson, to discuss her experience with the innovative new iMatch tool, which matches a users tone to the perfect Double Wear Stay-In-Place foundation shade (and subsequently ideal blush and lip colors too). It not only found the shades she needed but the make up stayed in place through the shoot, filming, and even a night on the town in NYC. Readers can check out the iMatch tool and get their perfect shades with Estée Lauder at any Estée Lauder counter in any Nordstorm.

Pretty Little Fawn: Hair Guide Courtney Halverson walks her readers through life with long hair and her anxiety, but desire, to go short. After a trip to Paris and seeing all the chic bobs and lobs, it was time to put the fear aside and make it happen. Once it happened, she was in LOVE with her new locks and went through a lot of products until she found an array of products she lives by. THIS is her hair guide.

  1. Oribe Shampoo and Conditioners: shower go-to

  2. Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color/Conditioner for Beautiful Color: great for people that color their hair (which she does). Helps keep hair moisturized and color lasts longer.

  3. Mask for Beautiful Color: when hair feels dry

  4. R+Co’s Cactus Texturizing Shampoo: when want texture without having to curl hair

  5. T3 Micro wand: for curling hair/comes with multiple attachments/only hold on hair for 5-7 seconds

  6. Oribe’s Heat Styling Spray: heat protection/spray before drying or curling

“But by far, my biggest hair secret (which isn’t a secret because I will tell literally anyoneeee about it) is dry shampoo and texturizing spray. I only wash my hair twice a week, and only really curl it right after it’s clean, so the rest of the time I rely on keeping oil at bay. I live for my Oribe Texturizing Spray, and I can’t even tell you how much it transforms my hair. It makes it not look so clean and perfect, roughs it up the right amount and just gives it a more lived in look. For mornings when my roots are oily, I hit the crown of my hair with Oribe Dry Shampoo and work it in. It’s easy and allows me to be lazy – which is basically my eternal goal.” – Courtney(Pretty Little Fawn)

Le Fashion Monster: SPAcation with Immunocologie Sometimes we need a little SPAcation from our vacation. The hustle and bustle from travel is welcomed by yoga, massages, and, the gal pal favorite, BRUNCH! Traveling fashionista, Deniz Selin, was invited to take part in a new skin care line Immunocologie at then Langham in Pasadena. Our “Fashion Monster” was pleasantly delighted by her experience with the two-day retreat.

She was greeted with a bottle of champagne, chocolates, a personalized robe (with her IG handle) and a ton of other goodies that were displayed on her bed…um YES PLEASE!

The part of her blog that stood out to me was meeting the founder of Immunocologie. “When arriving, I met the lovely owner of Immunocologie, Karen. We sat down and chatted for a while before the rest of the girls made their way up. Before we knew it, we had a little pow-pow listening to Karen share her wonderful story about how she got started and how Immunocologie was her labor of love. Listening to her talk about her struggles to get to where she is was incredibly inspiring. She discussed her children, her career path and her vision for her baby, Immunocologie.”– DenizLe Fashion Monster

Another blissful activity while visiting the hotel included yoga in the Japanese gardens and a delicious (yet healthy) brunch. All the spa sessions used Immunocologie products and oils that focused around the blogger’s personal element.
