God & Beauty woke up a little shook this morning, as we’re in the midst of so many great announcements on additions to our team — to see a NEW YORK TIMES feature on Stephanie of Honey & Silk, and Courtney of Pretty Little Fawn.

On Courtney —
“The thing I like most is that bloggers aren’t perfect,” says Halverson, who has also been a professional actress since the age of 12. (In 2014, she had a starring role in the supernatural-horror movie “Unfriended.”) “We’re not models. It’s putting more of a real face with clothing.”
These days, Halverson likes to keep her style simple. “None of my outfits are complicated — it allows the piece to take center stage,” she says.
On Stephanie —
“[Moving to L.A.] really has yielded so much more creativity and inspiration in meeting amazing people and discovering so many new places,” says Hjelmeseth, who jettisoned her accounting aspirations long ago. Her site, which was initially inspired by her love of writing, quickly evolved into a focus on fashion after traffic spiked on a picture she had posted of an outfit.
“My style five years ago was cringe-worthy,” Hjelmeseth says. “I was more of a fast-fashion consumer.” Now, she gravitates toward classic silhouettes with modern details, like mixed textures. She also loves dresses. “They’re easy and effortless and can make such a statement as a singular garment,” she says.
